How to Claim your Spot

Season Ticket Holders Tailgating

Tailgating on the mall is reserved for Arizona Football season tailgate pass holders. The season tailgate passes are sold prior to the start of the season (See Tailgate Request Dates and Distribution Dates chart). Season tailgate passes are sold as over 30' passes and under 30' passes depending on the size of your vehicle. Limited quantities of season tailgate passes exist. Season tailgate passes will be distributed to fans who are season ticket holders with a minimum of two seats and are also Wildcat Club members of $100 donation or higher. If you are interested in a season tailgate pass, please call 520-621-2287 to be added to a waiting list. The waiting list is based on availability and priority points.

All season tailgate pass holders should contact the McKale Ticket Office to confirm their current email address. Email the ticket office at catsinfo@arizona.edu or call 520-621-2287.

Non-Season Ticket Holders Tailgating

If you are not a season tailgate pass holder and would like to obtain a game-specific tailgate pass, please call 520-621-2287 to be added to a waiting list. Game-specific tailgate passes will only be distributed if space is available. If additional space exists, game-specific tailgate passes will be allocated based upon a priority point system waiting list and will become available two (2) Mondays preceding the home game (see Tailgate Request Dates and Distribution Dates chart below).

Tailgate Passes

Tailgate Pass Policies

Tailgating requires advanced purchase of a season or game-specific tailgate pass. All vehicles entering the tailgating grounds will be required to display a tailgate pass. If a vehicle does not have a pass, it will not be allowed on the tailgating grounds.

Reserved Spaces/Large Parties

On game day, spaces are assigned to season and game-specific tailgate pass holders in the order vehicles arrive, parked one next to the other. Tailgate locations may change each game. No reserved spaces exist on the first-come, first-served tailgating grounds. Large parties must meet outside the tailgating area and arrive together to be parked together.

Renewals

The 2023 season ticket renewal deadline is May 2. Season tailgate passes, including renewals, are issued to accounts that have a minimum of two (2) season tickets and current Wildcat Club Memberships (minimum of $100 donation). Renewals begin at the start of February. For your convenience renewal statements are available online. View your online account by using the My Account Manager system. Account holders with a current email address will receive renewal reminders via email. Check the current email address in your online account, or call the McKale Ticket Office at 520-621-2287 to update or confirm your current email address.

Multiple Passes

Account holders with a season tailgate pass may request an additional pass. A minimum of two (2) additional season tickets will be required for an additional pass (i.e. 4 season tickets for 2 season tailgate passes). Maximum of two (2) passes per account. Additional pass requests will be handled as a new season request (see below).

New Season Passes

New season pass requests will be allocated based upon availability after renewals. All tailgate pass assignments will be based on the Wildcat Club priority point system. Tailgate pass assignments are not guaranteed. The deadline to request new season passes is May 1.

Tailgate Policies

Solicitation and advertising is allowed on tailgating grounds ONLY with advance approval from Arizona Athletics/IMG. For more information, please call 520-626-7808 or email joe.moeller@arizonawildcatsportsproperties.com.

Tailgating requires advanced purchase of a season or game-specific tailgate pass. If a vehicle does not have a pass, it will not be allowed onto the tailgate grounds.

  • Reprints — As a service to tailgate pass holders, duplicate passes can be printed. A non-refundable fee totaling half the value of the remaining games must be paid at the time duplicates are issued (the value fee is based on the cost of individual passes). Reprinted passes will be provided after verification of the passes. NOTE: Duplications will be issued only to the account holder. The University of Arizona is not responsible for the loss or theft of personal belongings.
  • Counterfeit Passes — The opportunity to purchase or renew tailgate passes is not a property right, but rather a license that may be revoked by the University Athletics Department/ICA at any time. Counterfeit passes will result in the loss of both the counterfeit and original pass.

In the event of heavy rain, it is possible that parking will not be allowed on the lawn or that tailgating may be canceled. Refunds will not be given due to inclement weather. For your safety, the load-in for tailgate grounds will be delayed if there is lightning in the vicinity of campus. Staff will be moved indoors and vehicles will be loaded as weather permits.

Tailgating Hours/Spaces/Sizing

The tailgating area will open six (6) hours prior to kick-off. All tailgating activities will cease at kickoff, at which points fans must head into Arizona Stadium for the game. All tailgate areas must be cleared within one (1) hour after the conclusion of the game.

The football team will make their entrance through tailgating as they make their way to the stadium. Be the first to greet the team as they are dropped off on Cherry and University, two (2) hours prior to the game.

All tailgaters must enter the tailgating grounds by heading south on Cherry off of Speedway.

Over 30' pass holders will be parked on the center UA Mall starting west and moving east. Under 30' pass holders will be parked starting on the McKale Lawn and will continue on Gittings Lawn once full. Tailgate locations may change for each game.

No vulgar, profane or offensive audio will be permitted to be played on tailgate grounds.

All persons entering the tailgating grounds are subject to Arizona Board of Regents and University of Arizona rules and regulations, and the Laws of the State of Arizona. The University Athletic Department may revoke the tailgating pass and eject or refuse entry to persons for violation of tailgating rules, disruptive behavior, illegal activity, consumption of alcohol that's not within specified hours (consumption is only allowed between six (6) hours prior to kick-off to the start of the game), or other misconduct.

The pass holder is limited to the designated space of his/her tailgate. The fire lane located in the center of the tailgating rows is for the safety of everyone, and must be kept clear of all obstructions.

Tailgate passes are sold as under 30' and over 30' depending on the size of the vehicle used. A vehicle that is over 30' must purchase an over 30' pass. However, an over 30' pass can be purchased for an under 30' car for extra space. Spaces are assigned to tailgate pass holders in the order vehicles arrive, parked one next to the other (if a customer has purchased two (2) passes, they will still be expected to park side by side, NOT one behind the other). There will be no reserved spaces allowed on the first-come, first-served tailgating grounds. Large parties must meet outside tailgating area and arrive together to be parked together.

  • Under 30' - For tailgates under 30' the space size is 10 feet off one side of the vehicle and 30 feet from the front of the vehicle to the back of the space (17'x30').
  • Over 30' - For the tailgates over 30' the space is 10 feet off one side of the vehicle and approximately 45 feet from the front of the vehicle to the back of the space (18'x45').

The size of the tailgate area is at the discretion of the UA Tailgating Staff. Please note that the size of the vehicle will be determined from the front passenger or driver's side wheel. Slide-out will not be allowed. Exact space is not guaranteed and may be adjusted slightly to accommodate more tailgaters on high capacity games such as Homecoming.

The overall attendance of a tailgate may not exceed the space provided. Should attendance become so large that the guests (invited guests or "walk-ins") cannot be confined to the designated tailgate space, it may be shut down. The pass holder is responsible for policing uninvited guests and should notify the UA Tailgating Staff if there are uninvited guests who refuse to leave the area.

There is NO consumption of alcohol post kickoff. At kickoff, all tailgating activities must cease and fans must proceed to Arizona Stadium. All areas must be cleared one (1) hour after the game ends.

Tailgating Supplies

Electric generators that emit no fumes and make no noise are allowed on tailgating grounds. No gas generators are allowed in the tailgating area.

Gas grills are allowed. Charcoal grills and wood fires are NOT permissible on tailgating grounds.

Port-A-Johns are available on the UA Mall, Gittings Lawn and the McKale Lawn.

If you are planning on renting pop-up tents, additional chairs, tables, or catering, please note that delivery vehicles are not allowed in the first-come, first-served area. Delivery drop-offs are only allowed outside of the tailgating area. Please make sure that you have a pick-up time and place pre-arranged so as not to interfere with tailgating traffic. Catering vehicles are not allowed in the first-come, first-served area regardless of the possession of a catering permit. All tents used must be set up by the pass holder; there will be no setup of tents in advance to the beginning of tailgating.

Alcohol Policies

  • Alcohol may be consumed only during the six (6) hour period prior to kick-off
  • Alcohol sales are prohibited
  • No open containers on public streets, sidewalks or thoroughfares
  • Bring your own beer and wine only, no hard alcohol permitted
  • No kegs or common source of alcohol, this includes any drinking apparatus; such as a beer bong
  • All tailgate areas must be cleared within one (1) hour of the conclusion of the game
  • No alcohol outside marked tailgating grounds or inside Arizona Stadium
  • No glass containers allowed
  • No public intoxication or disorderly conduct
  • Persons who supply alcohol to underage drinkers may incur criminal and civil charges
  • No vulgar, profane or offensive audio will be permitted to be played on tailgate grounds
  • All persons entering the tailgating grounds are subject to Arizona Board of Regents and University of Arizona rules and regulations, and the Laws of the State of Arizona. The University Athletic Department may revoke the tailgating pass and eject or refuse entry to persons for violation of tailgating rules, disruptive behavior, illegal activity, consumption of alcohol that's not within specified hours (consumption is only allowed between the six (6) hours prior to kick-off and the start of the game) or other misconduct.

IF ANY OF THESE POLICIES ARE NOT FOLLOWED, TAILGATE PASSES CAN BE REVOKED WITHOUT REFUND.
